this byron bay

Booked a private room with private toilet. The toilet was not clean when we checked in, got a new room where there were black long hairs and dirt on the floor. Mentioned to staff a second time and they blamed it on that it had been very busy the day before - not my problem excuse. They said they could clean our room extra the following day which never happened. Atmosphere in Hostel was very quite and dead if you want a quite/ un-social hostel.

The rooms, not that clean bathroom had mould. I think it was a bit overpriced. We paid $300 for one night and were unhappy with that. You have to pay extra for parking also. You had to connect your phone to the TV for it to work. We asked someone to come and help us. Reception said she was sending someone up, but no one came. There was no fridge in the room, and there was tea and coffee but no milk. It would have been fine for $150 a night but not for $300.

Stayed at YHA Byron Bay for three nights, the only positive I would take from it is its location. The rooms are not clean, the bathrooms can only be accessed with a room key which is unnecessary, there is no air con in the facility, there are no towels available for the shared rooms and the pool area is also very dirty. During two of our three nights patrons ended up in the pool after 2am on one occasion for more than 2 hours making excessive noise by partying and jumping in and out constantly, when we brought it to the attention of management the next day they advised that this is something that should be expected in a shared accomplishment and that we should have called the night manager who they say is on the premise. Overall on our final night we got about three hours of sleep, and considering how overpriced the accommodation is this has left a real sour taste. We will not be returning.
